GST Relief for First-Time Buyers – Effective Now
The federal government has officially announced the new FTHB GST Rebate, removing the GST on newly built homes up to $1M for first-time buyers, and offering partial rebates on homes between $1–1.5M. The measure applies to Agreements of Purchase and Sale signed on or after May 27, 2025, and is expected to boost market activity. Tarion Update – New Warranty Information Sheets Required
Starting July 2025, Tarion requires homeowners to register their Agreement of Purchase and Sale directly with Tarion. To support this change, builders must now provide purchasers with a Warranty Information Sheet (WIS) at signing. This document includes a Home ID and Registration Code for secure registration.
